NH: I want to write a story about, about our adventure in my diary, can you (.) help me with that?

NY: Yap. (.) I like that.

HG:      [Yes.]

HC: Um hum.

NY: You have, you?

HG: ((laughing))

NH: Hum, where’s Nadia?

NY: Here, I’m here!

NH:        [You, you’re here, okay.] (2.0) Hm, so, <please> >follow me can you see-

GKW: ((kissing animation and sound))

NH: -me?< I am with, with purple ashes. (.) No, not ashes, can you see me?

GKW: Du-----------

NH: Yap, and            [we can go (.) up, go up to the hill.]

NY: Na, $Mic$, ((laughing))

HG: ((laughing with his own voice))

NH: Go up to the hill. You can see three green fires↑.　(2.0) Yap?

LC: Yes.

NH: And near it, near it there’s a chair? (1.0) Many boxes? (2.0) Can you see that?

ST: <Chair>?

NH: Yes, where-

ST: Oh, box.

NH: Yes, box. Boxes. Yap. ((going up the hill))

NH: I think you’re tired, so we can sit (.) and the-

ST:                                     [Oh, nice I wanna s-(it)]

NH: AND, (.) um, Ha, Nadia and Himit you can sit on the colored cha(ir)-colored boxes↑, (1.0) can you?

((Everywith the big bell ticking in the background))

ST: You can right-

HG:          [I am stuck in between.]

ST: You can right click the button and choose sit.

NH: Hm, ‘Sit here,’ there’s a button ‘sit here.’ OK. ((long breath)) uh…

HG: <Uh.>

NH: Everybody, uh- Is everybody ready? (1.0) Yap? (1.0) Yap?

(3.0) ((Big bell ticking, as if referring that we are getting out of time))

LC: Okay.

ZY: Okay.

NH:[Nadia,] can you sit on the <yellow> box? (6.0)

NY: (Sit the-)

HG: Click on the box.

ST: You can right click the yellow box.

NH: Yeah,yeah.

ST: [Oh, nice.] That’s beautiful.

NH:        [OK.] So, am, uh, I will start a story with three sentences, <and> the one on my LEFT, is (.) Ha? And, he should, he should continue with another three sentences. Is that okay?

GKW:    [Wow.] ((SL animation)) (2.0)

GKW:    [Wow.] ((SL animation))

NH: Is that Okay?

ST: UHHH…

HG: ((uncertain smiling))

NH: Then we will continue our story-eh? Why, why Himit, sit on the tree?

ZY: ((smiling))

ST: Himit.

HG: Ya.

ZY: You need to sit on the blue box.

((HG, NH laughing))

NY: $How can you sit$-((laughing))

HG: Hahaha ((laughing))

NY: (Put the things.)

ZY: Yes!

HG: Yeah.

NH: OK, everybody is ready right now? OK?

NY: Um hum.

NH: Our story will begin, OK? And it starts from Ha.↑So um, you think what happen after Zhou Yu and Little Chao get married? What do you think?

HG: (Hem.) (4.0)

ST: You can like create everything you want. You can like say everything, anything.

NH:                            [Yes.]　　　　　　　　　　　　　[Yes,yes.]

HG: He learned, he learned-

ST:              [Or they have children, like, how many?]

((NH, HG laughing))

HG: eh, two?

ST: Two, okay, two children.

NH: Ok they have two children, and then?

HG: Hey.

NH: You have-

HG:       [Story ought to get, story.]

NH: You can tell the story. (.) With three sentences.

(8.0) ((Big bell ticking))

GKH: (Hello?)

ST: Or twins?

NH: Oh, they’re twins?

ST: Or fox?

LC: FOX? Ah hey.

((NH, GO, NY start laughing))

HG: wow. (SL animation)

((Silent for 21 seconds, an implication of problems on physical facilities.))

NH: So maybe we can turn to (.) Zhou Yu! What happen next?

ZY:                                           [Yeah, yeah.]

NH: Yeah.

ZY: [Yes,] I think eh, after he, after two years marriage, um, Little Chao’s sister’s husband is killed by uh, Chau Chao. Eh, and Little Chao is very worried about my, I may suffer from same fate. So, so Little Chao wou-will not let me go to the field.

NH: OK.↑You can, uh, you know the plot? Everybody clear about the plot? ((laugh))

ZY: Eh, maybe Chau Chao will poison me.

((ZY, NH laughing))

ST: Okay, so, the thing is that: after they got married, but Little Chao, Little Chao’s-

NH:                                       [Um hum.]

ZY:                                         [Yes.]

NH: $Sister’s husband.$

ST: Husband. Is killed. So she’s worried about that her husband will also get killed.

NH:                                     [Zhou Yu.]

NH: Yap.

ST: So,    She didn’t want her husband to go to the field, right?

ZY:   [Yes.]

NH:                                        [Yap, Ok.]

ST: OK.

NH: We finish this term and next one is Nadia. (2.0) Nadia?

NY: Yap. (2.0)

NH: What happen next? (2.0)

ZY: (singing tone) Nadia~ (7.0)

ST: Nadia are you there? (hh)

GO: (Nadia? That is…)

ST: >It’s also<what do you think that will happen? (8.0)

(We can clearly hear the bell ticking when there’s no one speaking)

NY: Hm…

(3.0)

ZH: (吵架。)

NH: Oh, Ok. Maybe they have quarrel over eh, whether to go to the field. Or whether to attend the war. (4.0)

NY: (I think-) (6.0)

NH: Hello, can you hear me? (8.0) What’s going on?

LC: Not.

NH: ((coughing)) (2.0) Ok, maybe, (1.0) Nadia can, eh?

NY: Different, the same-(poor connection) whats-

NH: What? (3.0)

NY: Couldn’t-waltz?

(light voices, talking) (13.0)

NY: >OK,I,< I am listening. (7.0)

ST: Are you, are you talking? Nadia, are you speaking? (2.0)

NY: I am not, I am just discussing with ((microphone is moved))

NY: ((Tried to speak)) Discuss, I am just discu-ing. (13.0)

ST: Or maybe (youth) first? Go back to you?

NH: Oh, shoot. (5.0)

NH: Ok. (3.0)

ST: Ok, so I think we should move on to the next one, right?

NH: [OK.]

ST:    Can we?

NH:          [OK.] And next one is Little Chao. What happen next?

LC: I think maybe the Little Chao really worries about Zhou Yu, so they would have lots, uh, quarrel. But, uh, although they fight for many times because Little Chao didn’t allow Zhou Yu to go to the field, Zhou Yu also insist to go to war.

NH: ((laughing))

LC: Fortunately, he didn’t died. It’s possible because Little Chao missed him and then pray for him every day. She sang the song written by the Zhou Yu.

ST: Oh.

ZY: Yeah. I won’t die.

NH: ((Laughing)) But, uh, I have bad memory so I cannot, I cannot recall the song, so now (hh) Himit? Can you sing the song? That-Zhou Yu proposal, propose to Little Chao?

LC: [Sing the song!](3.0)          

NH: $(hh)$

NY: Himit. (To NH) You mean the song ‘Would You Marry Me Today?’

ZY: Yes, yes.

NH: [Yes.]

LC: [Yes, yes.]

NH: Or we can all sing together?

LC: Yes, maybe we can sang (.) together?

NH: Yap.

NY: We can sing together.

NH: Ok, one two three. Hm? Huhhuh.

GO: ((Singing)) Listen to me.

ZY:          ((singing)) [Listen (.) to me.]

ZY: ((singing)) Listen to me.

((ST, LC, NH sing)) Hand in Hand.

NY: Hand in hand.

NH: $Would you marry me$

ZY: Come to live with me

ST: Creating the happy life.

ZY:        [Creating the happy life.]

LC:          [happy Life.]

NH:         [Happy Life.]

ZY: Yesterday’s too late.

NH:   [Too late.]

ZY: Tomorrow could be pity.

(Others try to follow on the right tempo, but…)

NH: Would you marry me-               [Today.]

ZY:                [Would you marry me today.]

ZY: Yeah!

NH: Yeah! OK, end! Next one is my turn. Um, the battle, eh, Zhou Yu still goes to the battle of Redcliff, and it ends. But Zhou Yu is alive, he didn’t die. But on his way to home, he gets infected by a $disease$ and dies.   And they, they are-

ST:                                    [Hah!]

ZY:                                    [Ouh.]

NH: Buried in a forest together. Amazingly, many butterflies gather on their graves, and gently files away with a light spinning on the sky. OK. And, eh, I think it is a wonderful story, thank you for your time to finish it. It is such a good memory, I have good time, and wish you all too.

ZY: Yes thank you (for your help.)

Game Design

Originally, I want to play the game like Big Wind Blow. We decided to build some cubes, and assign who should take which cube. For example, the one has ears attached in his or her outfit should sit on the red cube. After everyone gets the seat, they would form a heart shape while looking down in the air.

However, this idea is not really suitable for the last task. We keep the mode of storytelling relay. In the first gameplay, most of the players don’t know what to do due to the lack of clear directions. To let them get into the situation and control the plot of the ending story, we built a circle of cube. Three of them are colored and separated with other three white cubes. This design could make sure that the story plot would follow a certain path and ensure that we don’t waste too much time on thinking plots.

The following are lines of task 9.

NH: OK, I will start the story with three sentences, and the one on my left should say another three sentences to continue the story, is everybody ready? OK, then we can start from 外生1, what happened after Zhou Yu and Little Chao get married?

外生1: ---------

ZY: However, after two years marriage, Sun Ce(孫策), husband of  Little Chao's sister is assassinated by 曹操's comrade. Little Chao is worried about that Zhou Yu may suffer from the same fate, keep asking him not to go to the field.

外生2: ---------

LC: Though quarreling over whether he should go to the war many times,  Zhou Yu still join Battle of Redcliff.(赤壁之戰) All Little Chao can do is to wait in their empty house. She thinks of the song Zhou Yu used for proposal and sings it very often.

NH: Now 外生3, could you sing that song and continue our story?

外生3: --------

NH: The battle of Redcliff ends; fortunately, Zhou Yu is alive. On his way to home, he gets infected by a disease and dies. His corpses is sent home and Little Chao is infected and dies too. They are buried in a forest together. Amazingly, many butterflies gather on their graves, and gently files away with a light spinning on the sky. That's a wonderful story, thank you for your help to finish it.

　In the end of the story, I add the element of The Butterfly Lovers to increase some romantic atmosphere in the end of the story. In the second gameplay, we did have a great start. Ha says Zhou Yu and Little Chao had twins. But when it was Nadia’s turn, she seemed to encounter some problems in her computer that make her cannot be heard clearly. So we had silence for eight seconds. And much silence in Himits’ turn. Though I told Hazel that she doesn’t have to help us in task9, she does help a lot.

It is not easy to design a game online, but I think we could make it better and funny. We have to care the complexity of the tasks and to think of the potential risk of physical facilities breakdown.
