Preface
ST: Ok ok, welcome to the tea house. I am the storyteller someone like you. Here is the story of today, called “Romance of Three Kingdom”
GO: Hey! Don’t forget me. I’m the most informed gossiper in the world. I know all the stories that no one knows about three kingdoms.
ST: The map shows 1200 years ago when the world was ruled by three evenly matched kingdoms. Each kingdom has a great leader to guide them to victory. The greater leaders are Chao Chao of Wei (魏) kingdom, Liu Bei (劉備) of Shu (蜀) kingdom, and Sun Quan (孫權) of Wu (吳) kingdom.
GO: Great leaders? Let me tell you the truth. Liu Bei (劉備)was just a vender selling straw sandals on the street. Sun Quan (孫權) who inherited the throne after his brother was killed is just a rich second generation. And, Chao Chao is the most short-tempered man that I’ve known.
ST: That’s nonsense. As the stories usually happened, we find water where the fires are; we find peace in the war, we find romance in legends, and we find facts with fabrications. Here is the thing we are going to do today, I am going to take you back into the history. So listen carefully: Three of you are going to play as a hero named
Guan Yun Chang (關雲長) at that time, Himit as Guan (關)，Nadya as Yun (雲), Ha as Chang (長).
GO: You don’t know who he is, right? Guan Yun Chang is a brave warrior with a red face and a long black beard. With his single-edged sword, no one can be his competitor. Lucky you, huh?
ST: This journey is meant to take you to experience the history, you will learn from the people with wisdom, you will be challenged by the warrior, and you will witness the romance of the three kingdoms. During the journey, if you have any problem, you can turn to me. I’ll do my best to help you.
GO: Can we just skip the cliché opening? I can’t wait any more!
ST: (hemming) Attention! The journey is going to begin.
Scene 1: Wei Kingdom outside Chao Chao’s Tent
ST: Here is our first stop, the camp of Wei kingdom.. They say the emperor of Wei--Chao Chao--is a cunning, merciless villain; I say he is a formidable, brilliant, and determined hero of the time. I am personally one of the fans of Chao Chao, so I think his kingship is justified and deserved.
GO: Oh, come on. You don’t have to be so pretentious. Did he pay you for that? Honestly, Chao Chao that old man is just a drunk always singing weird song.
A Short Song Ballad
I lift my drink and sing a song,
for who knows if life is short or long?
Man's life is but the morning dew,
past days many, future ones few.
The melancholy my heart begets,
comes from cares I cannot forget.;
What can unravel these woes of mine?
I know but one drink – Du Kang Wine.
Disciples dress in blue,
my heart worries for you.
You are the cause,
of this song without pause.
Across the bank a deer bleats,
in the wild where it eats.
Honored my guests I salute,
strike the harp! Play the flute!
Bright is the moon's spark,
when can I pick it apart?
Thoughts of you from deep inside,
cannot settle, cannot subside.
Friends drop by via a country road,
the respect they pay really show.
A long due reunion we fest,
sharing past stories we possessed.
Stars around the moons are few,
southward the crows flew.
Flying with no rest,
where shall they nest?
No mountain too steep,
no ocean too deep
Sage pauses [from meals] when guests call,
so at his feet the empire does fall!
GO: See. I told you~ Speak of the drunk, and he’s here now.
S: Aren’t you the great King? What is that with the long face?
CC: You know why I was called the mighty Chao Chao? It is because of my ability to recruit the best heroes in the world? But now I found it very hard even just to get one person to help me. Oh god, if someone shows up I will be like the Duke of Zhou (周公) to embrace him. Alas, mountains will not complain to be tall, ocean will not complain to be deep. (山不厭高，海不厭深) I will accept anyone that joins me.
ST: I come at the right time. I bring you three talented people. They are the trusted bothers of shu’s king. But now they are separated from their Big Brother. They come to you to surrender. You can put them in your army if you like.
CC: It is a pity to live in the time of turmoil, but if we can turn turmoil into peace, it is something worth our praise(生於亂世是為不幸，但如能變亂為治，豈非不幸中之大幸！) Now show me our new heroes, I will challenge them with some questions to see if they are suitable.
Task1: Brain Quest
(Location: Chou Chou’s tent)
CC: Okay, my new heroes, prepare to undertake my challenges. The first question is: what does it mean to visit someone three times (三顧茅廬)?
(Correct answer: you are very hard to invite)
CC: Perfect! the second question is: what do you call the mind of Sima Zhao(司馬昭之心)?
(Correct answer: Everyone knows)
CC: That is a killing spree you are making!! Two correct answers in a row. But this is still not the end. The last question is: what do you call the action of Jiang Gan stealing books? (蔣幹盜書)
(Correct answer: A tricked fool)
CC: Fantastic, you have completed all my challenges you are welcome to join me with my quest of conquering China. My first task for you is to move to the sea side to search someone.
Task2: Treasure Hunt
(Location: The Port )
CL: Our enemy is right across the river. Here is the map of China, we are the kingdom of Wei. Shu and Wu are both our rivals. Now, there begins a war. Ah…our great leader, Chao Chao, is my savior. It was him that taught me how to become a respectful man. My achievement should be contributed to him. So, now it my chance to show my appreciation, and to help him win this war! Although we have less soldiers than theirs. There is still a strategy to beat them down!
GO: What’s the plan, sir?
CL: We will secretly steal in their barn where they store all food.
ST: To steal their food?
GO: or to eat their food?
CL: Neither, I will lead our troop to burn out the barn. If they lack food, their power will gradually decrease. It is the proper way for our unpleasant situation.
ST: What’s a smart plan!
CL: Yes, Now I am preparing necessary tools, but I still lack something. And I need you to find out three things and take them to me. Pay attention, the first one guides me the correct direction to go head (campus); the second one helps me attack the enemy (sword); and the last one protects me from harm (helmet). You have to find only one thing by each of yourself. Do you have questions, Guan Yun Chang? Then, they are all spread in Chao Chao’s house. Both inside and outside. When you find out, choose “take” and come back to me!
(Finish the task)
CL: Do well! My fellow. Where did you find it? (Guan Yan Chang’s answer) Now I decide to give them to you as reward! I will teach you how to take it. First, you click “inventory” which is the third one on the left side of your screen. Then open “object” folder and choose the object and click it. And you will wear it! Now, along the river will you see a wooden house. There is a trainer who drills every day for the war. And he will teach you how to be stronger. Go to him!
Task3: Carrot Squats
(Location: Barn)
Nobody: Ah, I feel so bored. I am tired of training every day. I am willing to fight for our great leader, Chao Chao, but training alone is so boring. So Guan, Yun, Chang, I want you to train with me! Let’s play a game. This game is called carrot squats. The rule is this: I will do a gesture, and you are going to repeat my gesture and say the name of it. Okay?
Now I am going to introduce all gestures to you. So you can know which button can do which gesture. Please look at the toolbar on the top of the page. Can you see Communicate? Press Communicate, there is Gestures, right? Press Gestures. As you can see, these are many gestures that you can do. It also shows the gestures’ name. Any question?
Okay, now I am going to do a gesture. But I won’t tell you which gesture it is. You need to figure out by yourself. Then you do the gesture and say the name of the gesture, Ok? Can everyone understand? Let’s start.

Scene 2: Shu Kingdom under the White Cherry Blossom Tree
ST: According to the written history, Guan Yun Chang found he missed his Big Brother in Shu kingdom after serves a while for Chao Chao. So he asks to leave from Wei back to Shu.
GO: What a loyal man! What a lovely story! A man conquered all the difficulties just for gathering with his big brother. My tears almost burst out!
ST: So now, here is our next stop, Shu. Guan Yun Chang need to go though more challenges to testify his loyalty toward his Big Brother Liu Bei (劉備). Guan Yun Chang will be stopped by his old battle companions on his way to see Liu Bei. So you three need to be prepared for the challenges and questions.
GO: Let me remind you that I’m the most informed man in the world, so if you have questions, just ask me! Haha
Task 4: Building Common Grounds
CF: Ha hahaha, is this my big brother Guan Yun Chang? You silly old fool, how dare you come to my gate after surrendering Wei？ Do you think that I am going to let you pass with a fight? Come, beat me with my game so that I can see if you are really loyal to us. Here is the picture of me, you and our big brother Liu Bei.It reminds me of our gathering under the pink cherry blossom tree. Now it turns white. Look at the picture and find three things we have in common. Type out in Roman spelling, show me that our memory is still bound in you!
Task 5: Jumping over the peg
KM: Hey, long time no see, Yun Chang. Is your travel tough? Do you face a lot of difficulties? We always face different kinds of barriers which are just like these pegs on the board. I need to overcome all the obstacles and make our master succeed. Therefore, I always sit in front of the chess board and think how to make these pegs remain with the least amount. As a loyal servant, I have no choice but to think and scheme the plan for master’s success. It is really a tiring and boring life. However, think on the bright side, my wisdom increases day after day. Hah!
KM: Can you show your wisdom by playing this chess game with me? You have to jump over each peg just as we remove every difficulty in our lives until the game is over. In order to win this game, you need to have enough intelligence and understanding. So, are you ready? Let's start the game.
Task 6: Big Brother’s Sandals
GO: Isn’t that LB? I thought you’ve become the king of Shu kingdom. Why are you still selling sandals? Oh, by the way, how’s the business? (Sigh) It’s really a hard time. Even a king has to sell sandals in front of the gate of his own castle. Okay, never mind. Look, who I’ve brought to you.
LB: Yun Chang, is that you? I have been believing that you would come back to my side once again. Now you are…… Wait a minute. How do I know you are my brother, Yun Chang? Maybe you are just an assassin of Chao Chao who disguises as him!! Hmmmm…. If you want me to trust you, you have to play a game and clear it because Yun Chang is very smart!! I would say a sentence to describe the prices and colors of straw sandals, and you have to put the objects that symbolize the straw sandals in different colors and prices into logical order. Only by completing the game can you show me you are really Yun Chang. Let the game begins!
LB: “ 紅色比藍色貴”, “ 黑色最貴” “紅色比黑色便宜”. Put those objects into a logical order.
Scene 3: Wu Kingdom in the Forbidden Forest
GO: Congratulations! You finally passed all the challenges and questions! Is this the end of the journey?
ST: Of course not! I’m going to take you to see the most beautiful woman in the three kingdoms. If you have never seen that woman, don’t tell people that you’ve visited the three kingdoms!
GO: Are you kidding? The most beautiful woman in the three kingdoms! What? You say that you want to see her? Okay! Fine! Let’s see whether she is more beautiful than me! Let’s go now!
Task 7: Getting a Clue
ZY：吼(in a different voice and a surprising fox demon costume)
NH：Hah now you know what the result of intruding my place is!
ZY：You! Tell me how to get rid of this monster-like appearance!
NH：I won't tell you anything!
LC：I will burn up your treasured diary into ashes if you don't tell us. (with a torch in her hand)
NH：Hey, easy, easy! You don't have to act like that okay? Come here! (Lead them to the site where the board shows a picture like a sheet of a diary book) If you want Zhou Yu (周瑜) to retransform into human, you can find a clue in this diary! It contains the name of my favorite chocolate and the hints following it. Good luck.
LC: Could you do me a favor, Guan Yun Chang?
My handsome husband Zhou Yu (周瑜) intruded in a forbidden forest and was transformed into a monster! Please help me solve the Nightmare Hottie’s clue to find him!
Task 8: Demon Buster
LC: Oh How could you show everybody in this appearance? Where's my handsome husband?
ZY: Don't say that anymore. We cannot go back to where we used to be.
NH: Yes, you can't. So, Zhou Yu, when will you marry me?
ZY: I won't marry you! Little Chao is my sublime and only love.
NH: Then, why don't you propose to her?
ZY: I will, but I need some help.
NH: Guess no one would marry to an ugly animal. If there's one, I will retransform you into human!
ZY: Guan Yun Chang, can you help me to sing a song to Little Chao? I believe once she heard the song, she will marry me!
(ZH and Guan Yun Chang sing Would you marry me today together)
ZY: Would you marry me?
LC: Yes, I do!
NH: OK, I will keep my word. Let's get your appearance back.
NH:批力卡批力拉拉多多力那貝貝魯多
(Fires ZY, ZY changes his outfit and returns with a look of human)
LC: (in a feather fan and a silken hat?)
Task 9: Storytelling Relay
NH: I want to write a story about our adventure in my diary! Can you help me with that? Over a casual chat, we will create our own storytelling relay to discuss what happened after Zhou Yu and Little Chao get married. We can sit on the cubes over there. Notice that you can only sit on the colored cube!
NH: OK, I will start the story with three sentences, and the one on my left should say another three sentences to continue the story, is everybody ready? OK, then we can start from 外生1, what happened after Zhou Yu and Little Chao get married?
S1: ---------
ZY: However, after two years marriage, Sun Ce(孫策), husband of Little Chao's sister is assassinated by 曹操's comrade. Little Chao is worried about that Zhou Yu may suffer from the same fate, keep asking him not to go to the field.
S2: ---------
LC: Though quarreling over whether he should go to the war many times, Zhou Yu still join Battle of Redcliff.(赤壁之戰) All Little Chao can do is to wait in their empty house. She thinks of the song Zhou Yu used for proposal and sings it very often.
NH: Now 外生3, could you sing that song and continue our story?
S3: --------
NH: The battle of Redcliff ends; fortunately, Zhou Yu is alive. On his way to home, he gets infected by a disease and dies. His corpses is sent home and Little Chao is infected and dies too. They are buried in a forest together. Amazingly, many butterflies gather on their graves, and gently files away with a light spinning on the sky.
NH: That's a wonderful story, thank you for your help to finish it. It is such a good memory! I have a good time, and wish you all too.

ST: You’ve already passed all the challenges. Thank you for participant this adventurous history. We hope you understand more about Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I haven’t trusted the wrong ones. You are the best Guan Yun Chang (關雲長) ever!
GO: That’d right! You are the bravest and smartest man that I’ve seen! I gonna tell everybody your honor! See you someday! Don’t forget I’m the most informed man in the world~~~~~
